Hi...I'm Tara Sinclair
For more than 20 years, I’ve been helping people navigate career change, redundancy, competitive recruitment and every stage of the job search. Today, I work with professionals across Australia who want practical advice, honest feedback and a clearer way forward.
Sometimes you know exactly where you want to go. Other times, you just know something needs to change. Either way, I’ll help you work out what comes next.
Why I Love This Work

The best part of this work is seeing what happens for my clients.
Getting the job they really wanted, landing a promotion, making a career change they’d been thinking about for years, or getting back on track after a difficult period.
Many of my clients come back to me throughout their careers. I might first work with someone on their resume, then hear from them a few years later when they’re ready for a promotion or their next move. Some have been with me for so long that I’m now helping their children!
I love that I get to see where their careers take them over the years.
My Approach
I could tell you about my qualifications, industry memberships, awards, years of experience and the thousands of people I’ve worked with throughout my career. They’re all important, but what I’d really like you to know is what it’s like to work with me.
I ask a lot of questions because I want to understand your experience, what you’re trying to achieve and what’s getting in the way. That gives me the context to give you advice that actually makes sense for your situation.
I’ll be honest with you about what I think. Sometimes that means confirming you’re already on the right track, and sometimes it means challenging your thinking or suggesting a different approach.
You might need help working out your direction, making a decision, or simply want someone in your corner who knows the job market and will keep you on track.

How My Job Mentor Began
Before starting My Job Mentor, I spent many years in employment services, helping people from all walks of life find sustainable employment.
I went on to deliver intensive job search programs with strong employment outcomes, before taking on a national role overseeing job search training for 35 offices across Australia.
Fourteen years ago, I started My Job Mentor because I wanted to work one-to-one with people and give practical, personalised career advice based on what each person actually needed.
Those experiences are the foundation of everything I do.
